Canadian Rangers exercise in Monkman Park

DEBRIEF: Canadian Rangers from across northern B.C. gathered in the basement of the Tumbler Ridge Legion nearly 24 hours ago (on March 21) to lay out the procedures for a four-day exercise now underway in Monkman Park. A total of 35 Rangers and seven instructors – including some veterans of the Afghanistan mission – set out this morning after staging in the high school parking lot. Activities will include ground search and rescue practice, military snowmobile procedures, and more, explained Sgt. Paul Branson (seen here heading up the debrief), from the Fourth Canadian Ranger Patrol Group, B.C. Company. Greg Amos photo.
